In the summer of 2024, I joined Daydream Studios as a Graphic Design Intern and contributed to the motion cover for Willie Nelson’s 76th solo studio album, Last Leaf on the Tree. The goal was to honor his legacy with a visual that felt as grounded and enduring as the artist himself. I used subtle motion to bring stillness to life, creating a cover that quietly moves—much like Willie’s own music. The design pays homage to the haze and warmth often associated with him, using tones and textures inspired by the slow burn of a late afternoon joint. The result is a visual that feels lived-in, soulful, and unmistakably Willie.
